To celebrate and inspire UCSD’s creative community.

The UCSD film festival is a great place to meet local filmmakers who you get the opportunity to network with and enjoy art together. I loved being able to showcase the films I worked hard making, and seeing it play on a big screen infront of an audience is an amazing experience. Even if you don’t submit a film definitely go to immersive yourself in the small but strong film community it bolsters.

In the fall of 2021, as life was returning to normal on campus, we found that there was a lack of events focusing on UCSD’s creative community. As admin members of Triton Television, UCSD’s student run film studio, we witness the passion, hard work, and dedication that our members bring into their projects.

Our goal with founding the UCSD Film Festival was to spark creativity and bring together members of the UCSD community with a variety of interests. It is important for every student to feel represented and have the ability to celebrate their accomplishments. As UCSD is largely a STEM focused school, we wanted to start an event that would give these students an opportunity to celebrate their work for many years to come.
